Farm Visits

Visits to farms are done on a regular basis or as required.

Flocks and production records are inspected and the findings are discussed with the farm manager and owner.

Biosecurity evaluations play a very large role in the farm visit, advice and planning on this topic is performed on an ongoing basis.

Farm visits are a great way to “get the vet onboard.” This is to help visualize how houses are set up, managed, overseen, and cleaned. It is also an opportunity for staff to learn how to take samples for routine submission and to have the vet take samples while on the visit.

Company Due Diligence Reports

Visits throughout Africa to existing small and large poultry production facilities in both breeding,
laying and broiler production where investment is needed to enable further expansion and
development of operations.

The meeting with relevant role-players on the ground allows the
preparation of Due Diligence Reports on their operations for prospective investors.

Countries from which we have engaged with international investment companies include
Belgium, France, Finland, Holland, UK, USA.

Hatcheries

Hatcheries are investigated for hatching egg quality, air handling equipment, disinfectant and fumigation processes, chick vaccination methods, water quality, and general hatchery hygiene.

Samples taken for hygiene monitoring are then sent to the laboratory.

We can help with hatchery management and problem solving, as well as advise regarding chick vaccination, chick health and hatching issues.

Vaccine Programs

Design and discuss tailor made vaccine programs for each farm with consideration to vaccine application methods.

Modify, update and change vaccination programs as required, according to the disease profile and as indicated by the surveillance results.

Coccidial Control Programs: Discuss options and products available for in feed or vaccine applications.

In House Laboratory Design

When the time is right for further development of larger poultry production operations we can
advise, assist, and help with the planning and layout of a basic in-house diagnostic laboratory.

We can cover the basic range of major and minor equipment and reagents required to enable the
budgeting for a simple serology and or microbiological laboratory.
