In our consultancy, our focus is animal welfare and human health through disease surveillance and food safety. Some cases in South Africa may be a danger to people once they enter the food chain. Some strains of Salmonella are good examples of organisms which may cause disease in people and poultry. If we can effectively control disease and pay attention to bird welfare, we will be contributing substantially to the financial position of the companies involved in this large industry, as well as consumer health.

We also have the advantage to be in communication with other laboratories testing samples, which is extremely beneficial when it comes to following up on outstanding results or laboratory made errors. We individually cater to what our farmers need and are a phone call away when there are queries, concerns, necessary farm visits, or issues with their flocks.

One of the most beneficial aspects of MPHC is that we encourage the focus on teaching. We aim in implementing strategies where ALL staff are concerned.

This includes helping the owner, managers, vaccination staff, security staff, and cleaning staff, when it comes to all aspects of poultry farming. Our aim is to help guide poultry farmers to get the best production while keeping the welfare of the animals a top priority.

Teaching and imparting knowledge from the vets to all staff members working on the farm is crucial in making the poultry industry and individual farmers the most successful they can be.
